Rowing, athletics, fencing, football – As a member of the University Partnership for Competitive Sports, the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is the ideal place to study for competitive sportsmen and -women.
In 2003 the RUB, the Olympiastützpunkt Westfalen, the Allgemeine Deutsche Hochschulsportverband, and the Deutsche Studentenwerk signed a letter of cooperation. The aim of the agreement is to pave the way for competitive sportsmen and -women to be able to follow their sports careers and follow an academic course of study at the same time.
Advice and Support for Competitive Sportsmen and -women
Competitive sports requires a lot of time and energy, particularly during a time of life that is decisive for later careers. Competitive sportsmen and -women have the opportunity to combine their sports activities with study at the RUB by tailoring their study timetable to their needs. The RUB provides the advisory services and help needed to deal with contact hours, deadlines, exam dates, internships etc. We also offer periods of leave and free access to the university sports facilities. The Olympiastützpunkt Westfalen provides advice to sportsmen and women for choosing their university and recommends the RUB as a “Partner for Competitive Sports”. |
